Summer Assignments
The next three posts are your Summer assignments. There are both familiar and unfamiliar elements involved in them, so please be sure to contact me via the blog or through school e-mail at mckeebym@averillpark.k12.ny.us should you have questions. I visited the Cohoes Falls a few days ago and it was great. I thought it was fascinating learning about how boats got around the 80 foot drop 100 years ago and now. You could also learn all about the Erie Canal and how the city of Cohoes harnessed the energy of the water an made it into energy. The falls generated enough energy to power 26,000 homes! You could also go down to the waterfront where you could feel the mist coming off the falls. I never knew that we had such a large waterfall so close to home.
